This is the First Sunday of Advent and we anxiously await the celebration of Jesus’ birth.  Today we gathered to Dress the House! It was a very “hands-on” worship experience—filled with beautiful music, smiles, and creativity.  We are grateful for the Worship Guild’s guidance, Donna Matthew’s organization, and John Ledell’s preparation.

Today we also welcomed Ima Thibodeaux as our new pianist!  You will hear her beautiful  music and be blessed. Ima is a delightful person and a generous Christian who shares her joy of life with everyone. We are thankful she and her husband are now part of the Kathwood family.

As we read scripture, sing, and adorn the church, may God bring you into this Holy Space with us. It may be a sight or a sound that beckons you. In whatever way the Spirit draws you in, please know that you are welcome among us as we worship.

We are grateful that you have joined us. This is a day of celebration: Reign of Christ Sunday, Thanksgiving, and the culmination of a month of Gratitude. This is also our last outdoor service, at least for a while. Next Sunday we look forward to beginning Advent Worship in the sanctuary.
But there has been something glorious about being surrounded by nature as we worship. Today the sun shone brightly and it was not cold! Some Sundays the birds have sung along with us and other weeks the wind has kept things lively! All reminders that our Creator is still creating.

We hope that this week of national Thanksgiving, you too have opportunity to recognize God still creating around you and within you. We are thankful that you are a part of the Kathwood Family.
