Our Music Scholars program provides scholarships for college choral music majors.

Opportunities include section leadership, conducting, worship leadership, and solo and ensemble singing.

The Choral Scholars Program was begun in 2011 as a ministry to area college students pursuing music degrees. The Choral Scholars participate in Chancel Choir and Youth Choir, have opportunities to lead rehearsals, sing solos, and lead in our music education program. They receive a stipend towards their school expenses.

In August 2017 an Organ Scholar position has been added. This position is similar to the Choral Scholars program but open to one student.

In addition, Kathwood offers them a place of love and acceptance and a “family” while they are away from home. Several of our “graduates” come back to visit regularly, and many stay in touch with church members.
